Civility and political decorum demand that one should never pick on a president's family. Presidents' children did not choose their parents' careers. Until they are grown and speaking out on the campaign trail, they should be left out of political commentary. Their privacy should not only be respected; it should be actively protected.
Pretty much the entire media observed this rule perfectly when Radar Online published blurry pictures of 18-year-old Malia Obama puffing some sort of cigarette at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, Illinois on July 31. Radar's eyewitness cried weed. Video footage also showed Obama dancing suggestively to a rap song.

My Take - I remember when during Bill Clinton's fist term unpleasant comments were made about his then 13 year old daughter - and the leftist media railed against that because she "was just a kid". She wasn't elected and didn't deserve to be attacked by the media.....and I agreed! I don't remember what it was all about but I do remember thinking - "don't you people have more important things to write about!"
The problem is always in the depth of corruption and hypocrisy in the left wing media - the American equivalent to those Russian government mouth organs Tass or Pravda - America's mainstream media is the mouth organ of the Democratic Party.
This week almost no one posted anything about the fact Louisiana is drowning and Milwaukee is in ashes while Obama is vacationing, and playing golf to the tune of over 300 games during his presidency, and his biggest concern - not Louisiana, not Milwaukee - “I think my irons are good, my drive is straight but unimpressive in length, and my putting’s decent, chipping is OK,” "my sand game is terrible.” And that's not "news" with the left wing media.
I posted this article -Where is Obama While Louisiana Floods and Milwaukee Burns?, by J. Marsolo. So who's Marsolo? I never heard of him. Why aren't the big names at MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC and the rest hounding him over this? Why isn't someone like loony leftist Cindy Sheehan camping - surrounded by the media - outside his residence demanding answers for his daring to leave Washington let alone vacation during this crisis? If he was a Republican they would have blamed him personally for the flood and would have done so daily and around the clock for weeks, as they did George Bush during Katrina.
So....I have a solution......as much as I hate to say this because I find this solution offends my sense of decent civil behavior.....all the kids.....and I mean ALL the kids are now subject to attack irrespective of their age as a reflection on their parents character. The sad thing is it seems to me the Clinton's, Bush's and Obama's appear to have been good parents.
But I didn't make the rules - the left did - and if you're going to play the game with them you must know the rules and play by them with as much passion as do they - to win! The only restriction putting conservatives at a disadvange over the leftist media is - we can't lie - whereas the left perpetrates lies of commission and lies of omission and gets away with it.
But what should we expect from leftists - they have no moral foundation restricting them!
