From Townhall

Years ago, someone said that, according to the laws of aerodynamics, bumblebees cannot fly. But the bumblebees, not knowing the laws of aerodynamics, go ahead and fly anyway.

Reuters reported last week, "Some 30 million people are enslaved worldwide, trafficked into brothels, forced into manual labour, victims of debt bondage or even born into servitude."

There is nothing ever worth fighting for except Democrat policies:

This abuse by all politicians, is, in a nut shell, the reason why our Republic, based upon limited government, is supposed to, you know, 'limit' the powers of the government.

Could there be more convincing proof that President Obama is more concerned about himself than he is about the Americans he is supposed to serve than his Monday morning speech defending the disastrous Obamacare rollout rather than apologizing for it?

The constipated debut of Obamacare has reduced the president of the United States to the status of TV pitchman.

Remember when Obama compared the Obamacare exchange “glitches” to a glitch in the newest Apple operating software? Well now the Chief Salesman for Obamacare (AKA: President Obama) is trying to compare the websites to booking a vacation online. (And even NBC isn’t buying the pitch.)

The fiasco in Washington over the partial government shutdown, raising the debt ceiling and deepening animosity between Republicans and Democrats (and Republicans and Republicans), has left many asking if there is any way out of this bitter, endless cycle. There may be.

There is a question that all of us need to ask. How we respond makes all the difference in what type of life we lead and what type of world we make.

After Sunday mass at Holy Trinity, the parents left their four boys in Georgetown to drive to Griffith Stadium to join 27,000 fans to watch "Slingin' Sammy" Baugh take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

As the President tries to convince America that everything is going along swimmingly with Obamacare, an increasing number of citizens are expressing doubt. Dr. Ben Carson joined the show to talk about Obamacare, the American Dream, and why the two don’t fit together.

You know you’re taxing too much when even Euro-crats in Brussels think the fiscal burden is excessive! I’ve certainly added my two cents to this discussion, but I suspect people will be more willing to believe someone who endures the French fiscal regime every day.

For liberals, it is a cruel twist of history that Harry Truman's dream of universal health coverage, carried forward by generations of committed Democrats, should fall to the Obama administration for its fulfillment.

It has recently been reported that Richard Griffin, the former National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) member who has been nominated to general counsel of the federal agency, will receive a vote very soon in the U.S. Senate. The effort to advance Griffin’s nomination is being spearheaded by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Reid has been one of the top beneficiaries of union money – receiving $321,700 during his re-election campaign in 2010, ranking first in Senate labor money that cycle.

Any normalization of interest rates is going to crash the corporate bond market. When bonds crash, stocks will join the party. Is that better? Actually it is, but most won't view the accompanying recession as "getting better".

At an event Monday to boost the Affordable Care Act after its glitch-rich rollout, President Barack Obama asserted that his signature health care plan is a hit because "prices have come down." That's the administration's big lie: that Washington can mandate universal health care with beefed-up benefits and somehow the plan will save everyone money.

It may be fall but everything's coming up roses in Geneva -- and in every press release about how swimmingly negotiations have been going in that picture-postcard-perfect Swiss spa. (How come diplomatic conferences are never held in Gary, Indiana, or East St. Louis, Illinois?) The subject of last week's meetings in picturesque Geneva: how to work out a deal over Iran's nuclear weapons program. That's right, the vast program that doesn't exist, never existed, and will be halted if only the West would be so kind as to lift its sanctions on trade with that country and theocracy.

The government “shutdown” properly should be called “the Cruz Crisis.” This indeed is a crisis in the Chinese nuanced sense.

Have you checked your kids' school assignments lately? You might be shocked if you do.

President Obama, Oct. 21, addressing Obamacare's website failures: But I ask: Isn't that how we got to this point of a nation and its government immobilized over a program opposed by -- according to CNN's Oct. 20 poll -- 53 percent of Americans?

More than of 1.5 million Americans live in nursing homes. That’s not a bad thing in itself, of course. Sometimes elderly folks need skilled care beyond what a family can offer. Alzheimer’s patients often require round the clock supervision that’s impractical for busy families, where children’s needs and professional commitments consume more of the day. And some older people desire the companionship and planned activities that are available in assisted living or transitional facilities.

The last couple of weeks have seen yet another manufactured crisis designed to drive wedges in society and create victims and animosity. The outrage over the name of Washington's football team is designed, purposely timed, and completely phony.

To say Barack Obama's second term agenda is in turmoil is an understatement. His lofty goals include passing a budget and farm bill, two things considered routine in the past. The other major goal laid out last week was immigration reform, in the form of amnesty. That is all but dead, too.

Chutzpah is defined in some dictionaries as “shameless audacity.” It’s not a big enough word to describe what Barack Obama, author of the bestseller “The Audacity of Hope,” said after securing a GOP surrender in the fiscal showdown last week.

It is rare that investors are given a road map. It is rarer still that the vast majority of those who get it are unable to understand the clear signs and directions it contains.

Every day I do my best to prepare for what the market will bring next. But let’s talk about the present and what is out there today because the money is made TODAY.

Am I kidding myself, coming to the defense of Alan Greenspan? But apparently if I don’t do it, no one else will.
