Meet the Marxist Group Sabotaging ICE Raids

By Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

They patrol L.A.’s streets in search of ICE, Trump immigration raids,” is how the Los Angeles Times described the pro-illegal alien activists sabotaging the arrests of illegal alien criminals. The newspaper breathlessly described how ‘community patrols follow ICE vehicles and alert illegal aliens that federal law enforcement is on the way.”

The pro-illegal alien activists use megaphones to make noise, hoping to scare away the criminals that ICE has come to protect the community from, to the applause of the media.

During one recent raid in Alhambra where ICE, the FBI and DEA were preparing to arrest dangerous criminals, Union del Barrio activists began shouting through megaphones, and alerting any nearby criminals that law enforcement was here.

But who are they?

The LA Times misleadingly described the pro-illegal alien activists as belonging to Union del Barrio as “an independent political organization advocating for immigrant rights and social justice.” More accurately, Union del Barrio is a Marxist group which draws inspiration from the Communist Cuban revolution and its stated mission is destroying the United States in the name of La Raza, meaning the Latino ‘race’, to replace it with a ruthless leftist dictatorship.

California has already been renamed Califatzlan in preparation for the ‘reconquista’.

Union del Barrio’s political program calls for “the liberation and reunification of Mexico under a revolutionary government” which will be “committed to the liberation and unification of Nuestra América” and the dismantling of the United States as an “illegal settler state” by “achieving independent political power inside the belly of the beast”. Non-Latinos who are not members of ‘La Raza’ are described as “anglo settlers” who will presumably have to be ethnically cleansed.

UdB claims that its current form derives from Castro and Hugo Chavez’s ‘Bolivarian Alliance’ and after his death, Union del Barrio described Castro as “a symbol of struggle” and vowed that Fidel will “accompany us in our difficult task of fighting… within the bowels of the empire.”

Union del Barrios was founded by Ernesto Bustillos, a former sociology professor at Pasadena City College, who claimed descent from one of the early Mexican ‘dons’ who settled California (a hypocritical affectation for a Marxist class warrior), who liked to quote Lenin, and studied Mao, Ho Chi Minh, Castro and Karl Marx. UdB’s operation in San Diego is known as ‘Base Ernesto Che Guevara (BECG)’ after the Communist terrorist and mass murderer.

This is the group whose work the LA Times promoted under the headline “SoCal immigrants, allies can learn what to do when ICE shows up. Here’s how”. The media, which has been celebrating Union del Barrios for its opposition to ICE, has not disclosed UdB’s dedication to the destruction of America, its ties to Communist Cuba and its ugly history of hate.

CNN promoted the ‘Community Self-Defense Coalition’ without disclosing that it’s a front group for Union del Barrios. And local news network outlets tout the ‘Coalition’ and its anti-ICE activities as part of the anti-Trump messaging adopted by mainstream media outlets.

But what they leave out is that Union del Barrios did not begin conducting its anti-ICE operations when Trump took office, but had also been running them under Biden, and perhaps earlier.

Back then the media had no interest in promoting radical groups disrupting law enforcement.

Ron Gochez, a high school social studies teacher and prominent member of the UTLA union, recently honored by the California Teachers Association with its ‘human rights award’, has been interviewed by the media about the disruptions of ICE raids as a leader of Union del Barrios.

Gochez was previously better known for his work with MEChA: another radical La Raza group infamous for its motto, “Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada” or “For the Race everything, outside the Race nothing.” The racist slogan goes back to Jose Vasconcelos: a Nazi collaborator, who had praised Hitler and coined the term ‘La Raza’ for a new master race.

MEChA’s extremism led to the hate group being disavowed by the National Council of La Raza over its racism and calls for violence including rhetoric such as “all the Migra pigs should be killed, every single one…the only good one is a dead one…The time to fight back is now. It is time to organize an anti-Migra patrol…It is to [sic] bad that more Migra pigs didn’t die with him.”

By ‘Migra’, MEChA meant what is today known as ICE.

A past screencapped tweet from Gochez read, “non-violence has never and will never work against fascists, capitalists and imperialists”.

Did the Union del Barrios’s anti-ICE patrols have their roots in that 1995 editorial written under a pseudonym calling for the murder of immigration officials? Especially as the current anti-ICE activism by UdB and its front group is being accompanied by an unsigned ‘doxxing’ campaign trying to intimidate ICE personnel by posting their photos, names and phone numbers.

MEChA and Ron Gochez both also have a history of antisemitism. MEChA used slurs like “San Luis Jewniversity” and “Jew York” and coordinates with anti-Israel groups supportive of Islamic terrorism. Gochez had previously defended MEChA by claiming that “the Jewish-owned media continue to blind the masses” leading them to support the Bush administration.

More recently, Gochez was caught delivering a presentation to the UTLA teachers union discussing “how to be a teacher & an organizer. . . and NOT get fired” in which he talked about getting students to anti-Israel rallies, and claiming that “Zionists” were spying on him.

In 2010, Gochez delivered a speech at UCLA, declaring that “we know that all of that is happening in the context of where we now stand is stolen, occupied Mexico”, describing his group as the “Northern Front of a Latin American Revolutionary Movement” and quoting Che.

In 2015, a screencapped tweet showed Cochez sitting in his classroom in front of a Cuban Communist flag featuring Che and describing his teaching “on the US imperialist attack on the magnificent people of Vietnam”.

None of the media outlets promoting Gochez and UdB’s anti-ICE activities have bothered to mention his antisemitism or his past controversies over calls for the destruction of America.

“‘There’s raza that’s been detained,’ Ron Gochez, founder of Union del Barrio’s Los Angeles chapter,” is how the Associated Press covered his response to an ICE raid.

The AP did not bother translating ‘Raza’ to mean ‘race’.

La Raza Org Made Millions From Invasion While Sexually Abusing Kids

By Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

“This is a great time to be a Latino in this country!”

In 2013, ‘El Presidente’ arrived in New Orleans to speak at the National Council of La Raza.

El Presidente Juan Sanchez was not the dictator of some Latin American banana republic, but a board member of La Raza and the founder and president of Southwest Key which housed illegal alien minors who had crossed the border. The number of so-called ‘unaccompanied minors’ invading the country was beginning to shoot up under Obama and the administration was taking the opportunity to direct housing contracts to political allies that would help it transform America.

La Raza honored Southwest Key as its “affiliate of the year” and the group got a big check.

“The crux of our work is about creating opportunities for our gente,” El Presidente Sanchez told La Raza using the term for ‘folk’ or ‘people’. “This is a great time to be a Latino in this country!”

Or at least a Latino activist with ties to the Obama administration.

Under Obama, Southwest Key went from receiving $670,800 in federal grants to $31 million. The year after Sanchez’s appearance at La Raza, along with Michelle Obama, the nonprofit took in over $100 million. The Obama administration made the La Raza affiliate into an empire.

Michelle Obama delivered the keynote address at La Raza: a racist hate group based on the teachings of a Nazi sympathizer who believed Latinos were ‘La Raza’ or the master race. Next year, the Obama administration came to Southwest Key’s defense when the city of Escondido, CA rejected plans for a Southwest Key facility. Southwest Key and the DOJ won that one.

By 2017, Sanchez, self-declared ‘El Presidente’ of an empire of shelters, was taking in $3.6 million in compensation a year at the ‘non-profit’ and Southwest Key had scored $1.7 billion in federal grants. A portrait of Che Guevara hung in his office and politically connected figures on both sides of the border were cashing in while children were being sexually abused.

A recent federal complaint revealed that “Southwest Key has engaged in a pattern or practice of severe or pervasive sexual harassment of children in its care”, and that “from 2015 continuing through at least the end of 2023, Southwest Key received complaints concerning the sexual abuse and harassment of children at the majority of its Casas.”

The litany of abuses included a worker molesting a 5-year-old girl and 8-year-old girl and threating to kill her family, a supervisor repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl, and a “child” reporting a Southwest Key worker telling him he liked trangenders and asked him if “he dressed as a woman at night” while fondling himself as part of over 100 reports with numerous descriptions of workers who groped boys and girls of all ages and solicited them for sex.

According to the allegations in the federal complaint, Southwest Key employees helped cover up the abuses, threatening girls that they would face consequences if they spoke out and encouraging them to keep quiet about what happened.

These abuses might never have come to light except that once the Obama administration made way for the Trump administration, the detention of underage minors suddenly became controversial. Southwest Key shelters, once the embodiment of La Raza pride, were denounced as “baby jails.” Media outlets suddenly began reporting the multi-million dollar salaries at the non-profit. Reports emerged of a Southwest Key worker sexually assaulting 8 children.

By 2019, El Presidente Juan Sanchez had stepped down from his own organization.

La Raza was forced to suspend its former “affiliate of the year” to which it had provided $250,000 in grants, but multiple Southwest Key figures still had prominent La Raza ties including interim board chair Victor R. Grza, a founder of the La Raza Roundtable, its chief strategic partnerships officer Jose Velasquez, a former vice president of La Raza, and Anselmo Villarreal, the current CEO of Southwest Key who had been a La Raza board member.

La Raza’s fingerprints are all over Southwest Key and closely tied in with a network of Latino activist groups set up to profit financially and politically from the border invasion.

Under Obama it was Republicans, including Sen. Chuck Grassley, who were sounding the alarm about Southwest Key. Earlier this year, Sen. Grassley, citing whistleblowers, warned of “MS-13 gang affiliation” households and “possible child-trafficking rings”, and asked for reports of “potential cases of human trafficking” identified by Southwest Key employees.

When the Arizona Daily Independent revealed in 2015 that whistleblowers were warning that children were being turned over to ‘drug families’ and that some of the minors were gang members, the story was buried. Only once Trump took office and tried to secure the border did the media suddenly become interested in investigating some abuses at Southwest Key.

What had once been a lucrative means of subsidizing Democrats and the border invasion became an obstacle to completely opening up the border and deluging the country. And while Southwest Key may have been exposed, there are many other ‘nonprofits’ run by political allies of the open borders lobby who are profiting from the invasion while denouncing “xenophobia.”.

Southwest Key and its La Raza officials claimed that they were helping Latinos, in reality the organization was exploiting the Latino kids that they were making millions promising to help. The Latino nationalism of La Raza was, like that of most identity politics movements, a fraud.

The mass invasion exploited both America and the migrants for a larger goal of transforming the country into the ideal leftist society envisioned by Barack Obama and La Raza.

Jose Vasconcelos, formerly Mexico’s leftist Minister of Education, had envisioned Latinos as ‘La Raza Cosmica’. The idea of a new master race shaped by continental eugenics became popular among Latino racialists in the United States leading to the chant “Viva La Raza!” meaning “Hail the Race”. Vasconcelos had praised Hitler and predicted a global National Socialist victory.

La Raza was a racist nationalist movement masquerading as an anti-racist one. So too Southwest Key promised to save Latino kids only for its workers to abuse them. But the kids were foot soldiers serving as the means to an end. And that end was the End of America.

Hitler’s Multicultural Supporters

By May 30, 2023 @ Sultan Knish Blog

“The world today needs a Hitler,” CNN correspondent Adeel Raja tweeted. Tala Halawa, the BBC’s “Palestinian” specialist, had previously tweeted a rant that included #HitlerWasRight.

Researchers have found that the #HitlerWasRight hashtag was intertwined not just with the usual white supremacists, but with more “progressive” hashtags like #FreePalestine.

Raja, a Pakistani Muslim, and Halawa, who hails from Israel’s West Bank, don’t fit the image of what people think Hitler’s fanbase looks like, but they’re more typical than you might think.

During the latest conflict between Israel and Hamas terrorists, Pakistani celebrities and politicians praised Hitler.

“I remember a saying by Hitler who said he had spared some Jews to let the world know why he killed them. Today I have developed a firm faith in this,” a Pakistani parliamentarian declared.

Pakistani actress Veena Malik tweeted the same fake Hitler quote. “I would have killed all the Jews of the world … but I kept some to show the world why I killed them.”

But it’s not just about Israel or the Jews.

Fayaz ul Hasan Chohan, a minister in Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet, allegedly named Hitler as one of his idols. He later positively compared Khan to Hitler. When CNN cut ties with Raja over his Hitler tweet, Khan’s right-hand man and one of his closest advisers, tweeted in support of him.

But then, as a Der Spiegel article began, “It’s not hard for a German living in Pakistan to get used to these differences, but one contrast is hard to stomach: Most people like Hitler.”

“Pakistanis always hone in on that topic whenever they talk to Germans. ‘We’re Aryans too,’ they say,” he observed.

The situation isn’t much better in Halawa’s West Bank where ‘Hitler’ is a popular name or nickname used by local terrorists. Among them is Jamal ‘Hitler’ Abu Roub, an Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade terror leader, whose original run for office led to headlines like “A Man Called Hitler Runs for a Seat” and “Palestinians Vote for Hitler”.

“Oh Hitler, you have brought pride to the homeland and Allah,” his supporters gushed.

Palestinian Authority media and leaders routinely praise Hitler. It’s not unusual to see Nazi flags flying on Arab Muslim homes in the West Bank or see Nazi salutes displayed at terrorist rallies.

Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority boss, wrote a Holocaust denial thesis as part of his education in the USSR. A few years ago, he claimed that the Holocaust was the fault of the Jews.

But appreciation of Hitler among non-white racialist nationalists and supremacists goes well beyond the usual predictable antisemitism in the Muslim world. And it can be found right here.

In the United States, the two main non-white forms of racial nationalism, black nationalism and the La Raza movement, were rife with admiration for Hitler and Nazi Germany.

“What the Negro needs is a Hitler,” Marcus Garvey had declared, and urged his followers to read Mein Kampf. “Hats off to Hitler the German Nazi.”

Admiration for Hitler and Nazi Germany was not unusual for black nationalists.

In The German Case Against the Jews, W. E. B. DuBois defended Nazi bigotry. Under Hitler, he claimed that there was “more democracy in Germany than there has been in years past.”

The Nation of Islam carried forward the black nationalist agenda. Like Garvey, Malcolm X met with the KKK. He also welcomed the leader of the American Nazi Party, to a Nation of Islam event. After his conversion to more normative Islam, which is often used to falsely depict him as moderating his views, he met up with the infamous Islamic cleric known as Hitler’s Mufti.

Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam’s current leader, has said, “Here come the Jews. They don’t like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that’s a good name. Hitler was a very great man.” The black supremacist leader suggested that “He raised up Germany from nothing. Well, in a sense you could say there’s a similarity in that we are raising up our people from nothing.”

This idea of Hitler as a model for black leaders pervades the black nationalist movement.

“We must take a lesson from Hitler,” civil rights leader Stokley Carmichael, who later changed his name to Kwame Ture, had argued . “I’ve never admired a white man, but the greatest of them, to my mind, was Hitler.”

On the other side of the trinity of identity politics is La Raza.

“Hitler represents, in short, an idea, the German idea, so often humiliated once called by the militarism of the French, the perfidy of the English,” Jose Vasconcelos wrote in 1940. “What is becoming evident, even for the stubborn, is the triumph of Germany over its rivals and the historical change that will consequently take place in the world.”

“But we will win with the German victory!” he assured readers of his pro-Nazi magazine.

Vasconcelos, formerly Mexico’s leftist Minister of Education, had embraced a new vision of Latinos as La Raza Cosmica: a new master race shaped by continental eugenics.

La Raza Cosmica became popular among Latino racialists in the United States leading to the rise of the racist Raza Unida movement whose chant “Viva La Raza!” meant “Hail the Race”.

There was nothing unusual about Vasconcelos’s collaboration with the Nazis. Latin American eugenicists were often socialists with fascist sympathies who admired Nazi Germany. And when the Ford Foundation and other leftist organizations backed Latino nationalists in America, they mainstreamed eugenics, national socialism, and racial supremacism as progressive ideas.

As they’ve done with black supremacists and the Black Lives Matter movement.

The pernicious myth that racism is a fundamentally different phenomenon among non-white groups, politically or morally, is at the heart of everything from political correctness to critical race theory. But the admiration for Hitler and the Nazis across racial lines shows that’s a lie.

Racism is racism. And racial nationalists have a natural sympathy. That’s what impelled the alliances between Malcolm X and the KKK. It’s what turned a Nazi sympathizer’s racial tract into the basis for the La Raza movement in the United States. It’s why Hitler remains popular in the Muslim world and among a variety of non-white racialist and nationalist organizations.

You can see photos of black soldiers in Nazi uniforms fighting as part of the Mufti of Jerusalem’s Free Arabian Legion which included Arab and African Muslim soldiers. A generation after the Mufti was urging Hitler to wipe out the Jews, Malcolm X met up with him in Saudi Arabia on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

Malcolm X called Hitler’s Mufti a “cordial man of great dignity” and casually noted that he “referred to New York as Jew York.” Three years earlier, Malcolm X had shared a stage with the leader of the American Nazi Party. And nothing had really changed with his famous “epiphany”.

Hitler’s popularity says little about the syphilitic failed painter, but a great deal about his fanbase and the nature of racism. Hate is universal and ubiquitous. It crosses all racial boundaries. There is no division between racism and reverse racism, between punching up and punching down.

Beyond antisemitism, Hitler and the Nazis remain popular among racial supremacists and nationalists because they embody the ultimate model and ideal of killing the ‘other’. Mass genocide is the final seductive and murderous fantasy that runs through Islamist groups, through black supremacist movements and through La Raza ideology.

Those who are not members of the group must die off or be killed.

There’s nothing ‘white’ about this idea. It’s as old as tribe and time. And some of the worst racists in the world are non-white members of racial movements that admire Hitler.

Justice’s Liberal Slush Fund

Legal settlements are being used to funnel millions to left-wing activists like La Raza.
Republicans talk often about using the “power of the purse” to rein in a lawless Obama administration. If they mean it, they ought to use their year-end spending bill to stop a textbook case of outrageous executive overreach.

This scandal comes courtesy of the Justice Department, which for 16 months has engaged in a scheme to undermine Congress’s spending authority by independently transferring dollars to President Obama’s political allies. The department is in the process of funneling more than half-a-billion dollars to liberal activist groups, at least some of which will actively support Democrats in the coming election.

It works likes this: The Justice Department prosecutes cases against supposed corporate bad actors. Those companies agree to settlements that include financial penalties. Then Justice mandates that at least some of that penalty money be paid in the form of “donations” to nonprofits that supposedly aid consumers and bolster neighborhoods.........To Read More....
