Post Nevada Comments and Thoughts

By Rich Kozlovich

I have the pleasure of belonging to a eclectic e-mail group that represents both sides of the spectrum, from very liberal to very conservative.  I may be wrong, but I’m under the impression I may be the only one without advanced education, so it’s an intelligent and interesting group.

Best yet, it never gets unpleasant beyond a very low level. If a topic comes up where there’s never going to be agreement, we just stop talking about it.

The lady who organizes all this effort is the daughter of a retired physicist who used to follow P&D daily. He became an internet friend who was very complimentary, even sending my commentaries out to his friends on occasion, but he was always sending me lots of stuff to use. Since my friend Maury has passed, his daughter does so now.

Yesterday I posted the article, Thoughts on the Debate in Nevada and I thought her response to me was so great it should be published, with highlights from me.
Nice synopsis Rich. I actually did watch it - frankly it was hilarious! A real "get'cher popcorn!" affair. It also was a huge angry hate-fest. Shoot, at one point it got so bad that they were all yelling over each other for a bit, and the moderators couldn't even get them back in line! At one point, you could see steam coming out of Bernie's ears and his face literally turned an amazingly bright scarlet he was so angry!!
Anyhow, what made it watchable, however, was this time rather than nothing but the "me too, only better!" (there was still lots of that), they really right out of the starting gate began absolutely shredded each other. They weren't pulling any punches, and the moderators gleefully piled on. I mean, the entire thing was nothing but a huge ad for the Republicans!
A note, when it comes to discussing the economy - the bits you quoted were right, they really didn't discuss the economy. There was, however, a tremendous amount of bickering over who's insane far left policy would cost how much (yes it would! no it wouldn't! Sheesh - little children bickering)... with some accusations leveled of "you have no way to pay for it!" but very, very little in the way of any actual discussion of how they supposedly would pay for anything. Warren of course went off on her "wealth tax" that will supposedly pay for everything but which expert after expert has said wouldn't even cover a fraction of her policies. So that was about it when it came to the economy.
But the whole thing was such a massive slug fest with them all attacking each other that it was pretty amazing and funny. And horrifically sad, considering the office they're running for. We're doomed if any of these clowns actually got in office - they can't even control themselves in a simple debate, refuse to face reality when it comes to the cost of their proposed policies (not to mention utterly refusing to actually consider what the effect of those policies would be and how utterly destructive they are.
Anyhow, maybe I'm perverse, but this was by far the easiest debate to watch thus far.
She went on to comment others of our group may have also watched it and wanted their input.  One thing I really have to say.  I do admire her for her fortitude, and any of the others of our group who also may have watched this debate or any of the others.

Much has been written about the lack of content, and how the moderators must have been protecting them from their own stated policies.  Policies that are out of line with most Americans.

Not only did they fail to discuss the economy and national debt, they failed to discuss foreign policy, as this Breitbart article points out:
............topics such as the nearly two-decade-old war in Afghanistan, China’s attempts to colonize the South China Sea, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Venezuela went unmentioned……….Africa did not make any appearances during the debate. Nor did the Middle East, despite escalating global crises in both Syria and Iraq, the persistence of the Yemeni civil war, and the tenuous state of the Iranian regime, now crippled by years of President Trump’s sanctions and the loss, at the American military’s hand, of its terrorist mastermind Qasem Soleimani. Other key parts of western Asia to American foreign policy, like Pakistan and Afghanistan, also went unmentioned……
Also , according to the article there was little or no discussion regarding foreign policy for Latin America, South America or Mexico.

Another Breitbart article points out that only Sen. Amy Klobuchar was asked about immigration issues, specifically “about the Minnesota Senator’s plan to provide amnesty to all 3.5 million illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.”

The article goes on to state:
No other candidate was asked a question about their immigration plans and no other immigration question was asked by the debate moderators despite Nevada’s enormous foreign-born population of more than 550,000 residents, making up almost 20 percent of the state’s entire population.............
Last year, multiple surveys revealed that moderate Democrat primary voters were turned off by the mass immigration plans of 2020 Democrats, along with swing voters who are six percentage points less likely to vote for a Democrat who supports policies like free healthcare for illegal...............
There are now 62 million immigrants and their U.S.-born children residing in the country, a record high, and nearly half of the residents in the country’s five largest cities speak another language other than English in their home.
Why did the moderators fail to make this a major part of the discussion?  Especially since “the open borders lobby has demanded that each candidate running promise to end all deportations of every illegal alien living in the United States.”

As Andrea Widburg pointed out:
It wasn’t pretty. They were the six unappealing dwarfs -- Supercilious, Shrill, Angry, Confused, Smug . . .Not a single person on the stage is a leader or a statesman. Without exception, they are small people, and that’s true with or without standing on boxes. There’s something almost tragic about the fact that the essence of the Democrat Party – the oldest continuously existing political party in the world – has been reduced to these six uninspiring, unqualified people.
When you see this kind of thing it's hard to know whether to laugh at their antics, or cry for the nation, and the young who've been lured into breathing the fumes of this leftist fever swamp. If my grandfather was still alive he would have shook his head in disgust and used a Serbian phrase meaning "no shame".

Perhaps the nation should be thankful for that lack of shame, and their inability to recognize how shameful they are.

Thoughts on the Debate in Nevada

By Rich Kozlovich

First off let me say I no longer watch debates, even for a few minutes.  I find these candidates are completely unembarrassed for their performances.  I'm not sure if that's true of those who watch. They absolutely have no shame making it hard to stomach it all.  I do admire those who are paid to watch these sickening displays in order to report on them.

Monica Showalter has been one of my favorite writers because she has a way with words, and she certainly knows how to cut through all the crap into the core of a matter. Her description of the debate starts out like this:
The Democrat debate was an exercise in futility, a bunch of mice scurrying over scraps........Tails entangled together, they also fought each other like a rat-king........
She goes on saying:
....they nattered on about a whole host of irrelevant, stupid stuff you don't hear people talking about in the grocery stores or on the barstools. What they didn't bring up at all was the economy....maybe they're just cowards.....
She ends her article with this:
Trump gets people jobs -- and rising incomes. Anything the Democrats can sell after that feat is miserable gruel. No wonder they're not big enough to bring up the economy.
Andrea Widburg described the event as a sharp focus on the candidates’ personalities, saying:
It wasn’t pretty. They were the six unappealing dwarfs -- Supercilious, Shrill, Angry, Confused, Smug . . . and that unpleasant nameless something that is Klobuchar.
After outlining her views on these "Dwarfs", she concluded:
Not a single person on the stage is a leader or a statesman. Without exception, they are small people, and that’s true with or without standing on boxes. There’s something almost tragic about the fact that the essence of the Democrat Party – the oldest continuously existing political party in the world – has been reduced to these six uninspiring, unqualified people.
It gets worse. Patricia McCarthy notes how strange this whole clown show has become calling it "a bonfire of their vanities".

Bloomberg beat on Bernie saying:
“We’re not going to throw out capitalism. We tried that. Other countries tried that. It was called communism and it just didn’t work.”
  But as she notes:
He is right about that but he’s not very likeable and Warren made him squirm when she asked him to release all the women who have sued him from their non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
She notes none of them discuss how they’re going to pay for all the free stuff they’re all saying they’re going to deliver to the nation, nor how they’re going to get Congress to authorize it. None of them talk about the national debt, nor do they wish to talk about how their promises will send that debt into the stratosphere of unpayability and bankruptcy.

One thing they’re all clear about and agree on: They all hate America, they hate the wealthy, unless it involves their wealth. She makes a point that resonates with me:
It is a mystery how Bernie’s supporters can put up with his relentless hectoring, his whole-arm finger-jabbing and his hatred of any and all persons who have worked hard and succeeded. He despises the people who make the country function……
Her article clearly outlines they’re all clueless, arrogant, bumbling, economically ignorant, and I include Bloomberg since he seemingly only understands his personal economics, and with the exception of Bloomberg, the rest are mostly unaccomplished in their lives, especially in their political lives.  The author ends her article saying:
This debate was a sad commentary on the quality of the Democrat candidates…..They are angry, hate-filled and tend toward violence which Bernie is hard pressed to disavow……..the NBC audience was packed with Marxist socialists who cheered the five radicals and booed Bloomberg. Chuck Todd was his usual buffoonish self; the moderators had no control over the participants. This debate was not just a bonfire of these candidates’ vanities, it was a “dumpster fire” ” (Paula Boyard).
On a personal note I hope someone noticed the three articles I presented were all written by women, and one of them cites another female writer.  I did that deliberately!

The woman's vote has traditionally been a huge Democrat constituency. It appears to me the two really big constituencies of the Democrat Party are women voters and black voters. And both of those constituencies seem to despise the Democrat party apparatus, their radical actions and these candidates in particular, and in larger numbers than we've seen in my lifetime.

Maybe that's what it really means to be Woke!

Democrats Represent All Countries But America, Mr. Kirk

Look away from the Democrats and pray fervently to God Almighty that they never transform America into a socialist state in 2020 or any time thereafter

By —— Bio and Archives--September 14, 2019

A quick scan of Google images from Democrat debates shows no flag.  As Kirk points out: “Not in Detroit, Not in Miami.  And not last night in Houston”.  There’s a glitzy blinding blaze of red, white and blue on the CNN stage.  Good enough for CNN, memes and themes have replaced the much beloved and noble American flag.  We know that patriot hearts are few and far between among the mainstream and social media of the day. Is there not a single patriot heart among the Democrat presidential hopefuls wanting to be elected as the next president of the U.S.A.?

No, not a single one.

My Take - I have the privilege of belonging to an eclectic e-mail group, all of whom are professionals and I think probably college educated.  One is a university professor.  Some are very liberal and some are very conservative.  But the nice thing is once levels of disagree reaches a point, everyone walks away from the subject.

Allegedly Elizabeth Warren is climbing in the polls after this last debate, and since I don't believe in polls, that falls under the category of - as my mother used to say - "Who gives a s..t!".  But one of my correspondents thinks that she will become more electable "given time".

Well, my response was that Warren is a disgusting snake oil salesman, right along with the rest of that clown car of candidates, and “over time” is not on her side, because when people have “time” to think, the “pitch” just doesn’t work. The only reason she’s in this race at all is because the Democrat party has gone completely insane and the rest of the pack are lunatics, and she has better name recognition.

Here's the truth of the matter.  Does any Democrat honestly believe any of these clowns could have run even ten years ago? Twenty years ago, they’d have been laughed out of the building.  Thirty years ago, they’ve been thrown out of the building.

But this is the kicker.  Seventy five years ago they’d have been part of the FDR administration, right along with his communist Vice President, Henry Wallace.  What's happening now is the rest of the party has finally caught up with FDR.

Now they’re all traitors.

Watching Their Debates Can Make The Masses Crazy as the Democrats Are

By —— Bio and Archives--September 13, 2019

Democrat presidential hopefuls, formerly described as the ‘Bus Full of Crazies’ showed themselves as “The Yada, Yada Yahoo’ gang at Houston’s last night presidential debate.
This time they went all-out for the jugular—each other’s.

Their “Yada”, “Yada”, “Yada” is all about Free Stuff for the Masses.  All they basically want is a complete government takeover of health care; open borders for illegal immigrants, including child traffickers, rapists and murderers; radical gun control measures leaving guns available only to criminals and all being ready to inflict a wholly liberal socialist agenda on America.

The Drudge Report should stuff its poll, because last night proved that the Yahoo Gang can not even distinguish themselves from the other.

This morning’s **Drudge Poll** asking “Who Won the 5th Debate should be outright ignored or promptly answered: “NO ONE!” and be turned around to ask “Which one came off as the craziest?”
As usual even Dem surrogates were in on the circus........To Read More...
