Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee released a comprehensive 389-page tax-and-spending bill on May 12. The legislation, which President Trump has often called the “big, beautiful bill,” covers a lot of ground, including the preservation of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, perhaps Trump’s signature legislative victory of his first White House term.

The bill also confers tax-exempt status on most tips and overtime payments and strips “terrorist supporting organizations” of tax-exempt status. Additionally, this legislation ends taxpayer benefits for illegal aliens.
