Media Think World of Science and Health Will End on Inauguration Day 2017

By Alex Berezow — January 19, 2017

Before Election Day 2016, I wrote an article reminding everyone that no matter what happens, America will be #1 in science. President Obama shares my optimism. In his final press conference, the outgoing President said, "At my core, I think we're going to be OK."

However, a substantial number of Americans, goaded on by a sensationalist press and the hyperpartisan echo chamber of social media, strongly disagree. One could be forgiven for thinking that America is diving head first into a new Dark Age... or worse.

Consider this headline from the Washington Post, which is possibly the most oxymoronic headline ever written by an outlet other than The Onion:......To Read More...

Here's a comment to the article from ACSH's President Hank Campbell:

"One of President Obama's advisors was a UFO believer (ahem, John Podesta), yet since he wasn't being asked to run NASA, it didn't matter."

So was his choice for Commerce, Gov. Bill Richardson, an even more famous UFO believer than Podesta, though obviously Podesta has to win on the conspiracy scale because he also popularized the Obama birther movement. That was unknown to the real Obama supporters at the time, or Podesta would have been on the outs, I assume.

And in media, though RFK made a ton of money for him, and he promoted vaccine/autism nonsense too, Obama never got slammed in 2008 for being anti-vaccine the way Trump has been. I know you had to limit this to just a few examples but this one made me chuckle. No wonder Atlantic has never asked us to write anything. We're not hysterical enough.

My Take - I'm a bit stunned at they author's views on climate change. Anthropogenic Global Warming is now and has been the greatest fraud perpetrated on mankind. Jacques Chirac, former President of France outlined exactly what the Kyoto Accord is all about - The first toward global governance! AGW isn't about the environment, it's about power, and who holds it.

It's my hope scientists on both sides of this issue are forced into court so they're can be questioned under oath, and then let the cards fall where they may.  I'm a firm believer the "warmers" will fare no better then their hero Michael Mann in his Canadian lawsuit against Tim Ball - where he refused to turn over his "dirty laundry" (his phrase).   From the Hockey Stick Graph to the 95% claim - put all of that under the microscope of a public trial - under oath!
