My Take - For those Senators - on both sides of the aisle - who claim they don't want to see the nuclear option applied because it will end an important tradition. Well, I can understand that, but that tradition was a Senate rule, it's not law nor is it a Constitutional requirement. It was also based on the concept the opposition was a "loyal" opposition and could be trusted at their word. The Democrat party isn't called the party of treason for no reason, and make no mistake about this - if the Democrats ever get the White House and a Senate majority again they will reverse their current position on the nuclear option for Supreme Court nominees faster than a military color guard could do an about face. The nuclear option is now a dead issue and the Democrat Party owns that.
